Teaching Assistant (Grade 2 and 3)
Salary: Grade 2: £18,787 - £20,324 + £1,173 | Grade 3: £20,650 - £25,533 + £1,173City of Birmingham School is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join our team and support the development and education of our pupils.As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, including those with special educational needs. This role calls for competence across a varied range of responsibilities, from supporting individual pupils to contributing to the overall school environment.Key Responsibilities:* Support pupils individually or in groups during learning activities.* Establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils.* Contribute to individual Education Plans and promote pupils' social and emotional development.* Assist pupils with literacy and numeracy skills and help them access the curriculum.* Provide support for bilingual/multilingual pupils and those with specific needs.* Observe and report on pupil performance and contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.* Assist in preparing and maintaining the learning environment.* Contribute to the management of pupils' behaviour and maintain their safety and security.* Provide general administrative support and undertake routine marking.* Support the use of information and communication technology in the classroom.* Liaise with parents and develop working relationships with other professionals.* Participate in professional development and adhere to the school's ethos and policies.Person Specification:* NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.* Experience of supporting children in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs.* Good standard of education, particularly in English and Mathematics.* Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and behaviour management strategies.* Ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and provide constructive feedback.* Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities.How to ApplyTo request an application pack or to arrange a visit to the school, contact Jodie Massie at Hays EducationT: E: Closing date for applications: 9am, Friday 28th March 2025Please also see our recruitment site: https://web/cobs/All staff are expected to understand and be committed to Equal Opportunities in employment and school delivery.
