Teaching Assistant

  • Area- Northfield, Birmingham,B31
  • Day Rate-£85-£100
  • Days- Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Hours- 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Start- ASAP

LTF Recruitment are searching for a proactive teaching assistant to join our primary school in the Northfield area. The successful candidate will support the teaching and learning of children in a year six class alongside the class teacher. This role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the successful candidate.

The Role:

  • Assist the teacher in classroom behaviour management and preparing resources for students.
  • Plan strategies and sessions to improve students learning experience.
  • Support children with SEN and manage classroom behaviour
  • Working on a 1-1, group basis or whole classroom basis with students.
  • Supporting with interventions
  • Work as part of a team with other staff members to best support students
  • Develop a knowledge of the school's curriculum.

The Applicant:

  • Level 3 Supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent.
  • Previous experience (At least 1 year) of working in a primary school.
  • Experience of supporting children with SEN
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of pupils with SEN
