Long Term Futures are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in the Handsworth area. This rewarding role provides the opportunity to make a real difference by delivering targeted interventions to support pupils in reaching age-related expectations. This full-time position offers long-term stability, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Delivering interventions for students within small groups
  • Adapt and create teaching materials to cater to diverse learning needs
  • Support a student in KS2 in the classroom on a 1:1 basis
  • Assist in lesson planning, resource organisation, and maintaining a structured classroom environment
  • Lead targeted interventions to boost academic progress and overall wellbeing
  • Support children with SEN through one-to-one assistance and small group sessions
  • Support students with social, emotional, mental health needs
  • Facilitate engaging activities that encourage social interaction and inclusivity

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent degree
  • Minimum one year of experience supporting primary pupils, preferably in KS2
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1/2 curriculum
  • Experience delivering effective phonics interventions in both group and one-to-one settings
