Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with special educational needs? This welcoming primary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a Key Stage 2 class, providing essential support to pupils with SEN on a 1-2-1 or small group basis.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need extra support with their learning. As a Teaching Assistant you will be delivering 1-2-1 support for children with special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, and MLD. Job Role:
  • Supporting children with special educational needs in a Key Stage 2 classroom
  • Providing tailored 1-2-1 and small-group interventions to support learning and development
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Adapting resources to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Encouraging social and emotional development and promoting positive behaviour
  • Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to ensure each child receives the support they need
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary setting
  • A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A valid DBS on the update service
