Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND in a Year 6 classroom. This is a full-time, long-term role starting after February half term, with the opportunity to continue for the rest of the academic year.As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support for students with SEND, ensuring that each child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. You will assist with classroom activities, support small groups, and work with individual children to develop their academic and social skills in a nurturing environment.Key Responsibilities: · Supporting children with SEND in Year 6 to access the curriculum · Providing 1:1 and small group support in class · Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) · Helping to manage behaviour and promoting positive learning experiences · Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCO to ensure consistent and effective support · Monitoring and reporting on student progressRequirements: · Previous experience working with children in Key Stage 2 (KS2) · Experience supporting children with SEND (essential) · A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children · Strong communication and teamwork skills · A commitment to supporting all students in their learning journey
