Electrical Design Engineer, Salary: £40-50k + car allowance + excellent benefits package, Flexible Remote / Hybrid working arrangement with travel to customer sites and service centres across the UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a market leader in the modular industry, who provide temporary accommodation for sectors such as construction, education, and healthcare. In this role, you will produce design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, perform cable and lighting calculations, and conduct electrical load assessments.
Electrical Design Engineer - The role:
- Create detailed electrical designs for various projects, ranging from simple circuit charts to comprehensive designs using advanced calculation software in conformity with relevant professional and technical standards and statutory requirements.
- Produce specifications, drawings and contract documentation for distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, security, UPS/IT power systems and standby generator systems using design software packages such as Hevacomp
- Perform electrical loading calculations, including the assessment of diversity to ensure efficient and safe electrical systems.
- Design electrical installations to meet energy efficiency and low carbon requirements
- Liaise with supply chain partners and consultants
- Offer expert assistance and solutions to clients and sales colleagues, ensuring excellent customer outcomes.
- Inspect electrical works at service centres and sites to ensure compliance with safety, regulation, design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the team to innovate and develop new electrical services and solutions that enhance the product offerings and meet customer needs.
- Attend client meetings to discuss project requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
Candidate requirements:
- Experience in an Electrical Design Engineer role, preferably within the construction / modular sector.
- Proficiency in electrical design and calculation software with a working knowledge of HVAC design packages and AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Revit an advantage.
- A good understanding of emergency lighting design and electrical loading assessments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for client and internal stakeholder interactions.
