Due to team & project growth an opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join on a permanent basis.About The RoleThe position will be reporting to the UK Engineering Manager. The role involves leading and managing the Electrical Engineering team (6 members) to deliver high levels of service and customer satisfaction (75% of your time) through innovative solutions in packaging and processing machinery systems (25% of your time), applying electrical engineering principles.Key responsibilities
  • Organize team schedules, including resource planning and task delegation.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Oversee design projects to ensure all milestones are achieved.
  • Create electrical designs for primary products and new projects in collaboration with other departments.
  • Support the development of PLC and PC programs for systems or machines that require them.
  • Work with customers and Technical Support to troubleshoot electrical issues with machines or systems and report findings to the team.
  • Document machine electricals to meet UKCA and CE compliance standards.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 5 times per year) to support and develop equipment and solutions
Key Qualifications / Skills
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally in special-purpose machine design or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Knowledge of machinery safety standards, including BS EN ISO 13849 and BS EN 60204-1:2018.
  • Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens equipment.
  • Proficiency in UL standards and control panel certification for UL compliance.
  • Skilled in designing safety circuits to meet specified PL/SIL ratings.
  • Experience using safety system verification tools like Sistema.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
