An experienced Electrical Project Engineer is required for a role within the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar power and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This position involves working on a 1GW pipeline of projects ranging from 5MW to 70MW, providing expertise in design, installation, and commissioning. The role includes engaging with stakeholders, ensuring technical compliance and overseeing project execution. A hands-on approach, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. The position includes UK site visits, occasional overseas travel and hybrid working. Key Responsibilities

Define and review project electrical specifications for solar and BESS projects.
Ensure design standardisation across multiple projects and contractors.
Conduct on-site inspections and factory witness testing to verify design and build quality.
Review and approve as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and correct handover.
Oversee energisation plans and commissioning in line with electrical safety standards.
Ensure all electrical installations comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Supervise the handover of electrical systems into operational use.
Collaborate with the wider electrical team to optimise technical solutions.
Develop and implement commissioning checklists to ensure projects meet scope and deadlines.
Capture and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Experience & Skills Required

Expertise in Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) systems for large-scale solar and BESS projects.
Proven experience in project engineering within power generation, utilities, or a similar sector.
Electrical Engineering qualification or degree would be hugely beneficial.
Strong ability to challenge costs, technical solutions, and project schedules.
Familiarity with industry codes, national, and international standards.
Ability to work flexibly, including travel to various sites and occasional extended hours.
Commitment to high-quality, right-first-time solutions.
Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between sites.
