Field Service Engineer – Generators

Location: Birmingham
Department: Service & Maintenance

Role Overview

This role involves providing on-site support for generator systems within the designated region, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition through maintenance, inspections, and repairs. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in both workshop and field environments
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Perform servicing and maintenance on generator units and related equipment
  • Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Carry out repairs both on-site and off-site as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and complete reports in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
  • Build strong relationships with customers and team members
  • Uphold a professional approach in all work activities
  • Take responsibility for health and safety in line with company policies
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in generator servicing and repair
  • Familiarity with engines, alternators, control panels, and electrical schematics
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Full UK driving license
  • Proficiency in fault diagnosis and problem-solving
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks and environments
