LeadElectrical Engineer - Requirements

  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • DSEAR training
  • Hazardous area certification
  • Competence in ATEX, area classification and BS60079 all parts.
  • Understanding of the operating principles of the site electrical equipment.
  • Understanding of practical problem solving, process and plant maintenance and modification, installation and commissioning of processing equipment.
  • Understanding of COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Understanding of spillage and waste disposal procedures.
  • Understanding of near miss/incident reporting procedures.
  • Understanding of site safety and emergency procedures.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and GMP (where applicable).
  • Competence in working at height and confined space entry.
  • Competence in Permit Acceptance.

LeadElectrical Engineer - Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the organisation and operation of the electrical department and all electrical services covering supply maintenance and new capital work.
  • Project work - responsible for the design, specification, and installation of all electrical equipment for new capital, maintenance and upgrading work and controlling expenditure within authorized budgets.
  • Maintenance operations - responsible for the provision, operation and development of all maintenance and planned preventative maintenance systems and the development and training of in-house personnel.
  • Utilities management - responsible for negotiating price structures, services and maintenance contracts from electrical and telecommunication providers and implementing supply arrangements.
  • Management - Control of expenditure and resources within authorised budgets to meet required targets for plant operation, and provision of technical advice on electrical matters.
