Senior Electrical Engineer

Orion is working with a leader in the automation market space in Process Line Automation and Control. They specialise in optimising infrastructure to implement tailored automation solutions for manufacturing and processing operations. Their expertise in process line automation is a key strength, encompassing all major Drive, Servo, SCADA/HMI, DCS, and PLC technologies. They develop advanced multi-drive systems with precise speed, tension, and elongation control.

About the Senior Electrical Engineer Role:

You will lead the conceptual design and engineering of low-voltage power systems, specialising in industrial drive systems, power conversion, and power generation applications..

Responsibilities as the Senior Electrical Engineer

Understanding and capturing client requirements.
Electrical concept design and definition.
Detailed design studies and calculations.
Requirements and functional specifications for bought-out systems and components such as motors, drives, switchboards, transformers, energy storage and cabling
Co-ordination with the Hardware Design team and review of detailed designs produced
Commissioning and SATs/FATs.

Requirements for the Senior Electrical Engineer Role:

Minimum of BEng / BSE / Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
Very good understanding of electrical control systems, low voltage power supply and distribution, power conversion, and power generation concepts.
Experience working with drives and motors.
