Our client is a leading engineering consultancy business, who are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer to join their team and support on a variety of projects for West Midlands Police.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Facilities Management (FM) projects across a portfolio of buildings, including fixed wire testing, maintenance of emergency lights, alarms, and general contractor oversight.

You will also be managing works on the existing portfolio, ensuring annual testing has been carried out, and overseeing maintenance works. This role involves working on behalf of the police, supplying work to the appropriate subcontractors, and managing the projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee minor FM projects, including fixed wire testing and maintenance of emergency lights and alarms.
  • Manage general contractor oversight and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure annual testing and maintenance works on existing portfolio are carried out efficiently.
  • Supply work to the appropriate subcontractors and manage the projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and subcontractors.
  • Ensure documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
  • Supervise visiting subcontractors with regards to the standard of work and health and safety.
  • Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner, complying with all health and safety policies and procedures.
