Job Overview:
My Client is seeking a highly skilled and reliable Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join there team at an events space based in Birmingham city centre. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, performing regular inspections, and carrying out repairs to ensure the efficient operation of all electrical systems within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical fault diagnosis and general maintenance.
  • Primarily engage in reactive maintenance, with some scheduled preventive tasks.
  • Collaborate with a team of 2 engineers, part of a larger shift team of 8 engineers.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards to ensure safe working conditions.

Primary Duties:

  • Routine Inspections: Regularly inspect electrical systems, such as lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Carry out planned maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
  • Repairs: Quickly identify and resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Installations: Assist with the installation of new electrical systems and equipment as needed.
  • Testing: Perform electrical testing and inspections to ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, system performance, and any issues encountered.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct safety checks and risk assessments to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Energy Management: Track and manage energy usage, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to urgent maintenance requests and ensure rapid resolution of issues.
  • Teamwork: Work closely with other maintenance engineers and departments to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Open to both electrically and mechanically biased engineers.
  • Must hold 17th or 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
  • Qualified to Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
