We are seeking an experienced Domestic Electrician to join our team for a contract-based role in the Birmingham area. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of domestic electrical installations and maintenance projects, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in domestic properties.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including lighting, sockets, wiring, consumer units, and more.
- Conduct electrical testing, inspections, and PAT testing to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
- Diagnose faults and carry out necessary repairs efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure all work complies with the latest wiring regulations (BS 7671) and health and safety standards.
- Provide expert advice to customers regarding their electrical needs and solutions.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including certificates for electrical work (EICR, Part P, etc.).
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service at all times.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Domestic Electrician, with a focus on residential properties.
- Full qualifications, including:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent) preferred.
- Valid ECS/CSCS card.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, fault-finding, and diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of electrical regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with consumer unit installations, rewiring, and electrical fault finding.
- Ability to complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) and other certifications.
- Full UK driving license and own tools.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Highly motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience working on housing association or local authority projects.
- Additional electrical qualifications such as EV charging point installation or solar panel installation.
