Job Title: Telecommunications & Signalling Technician
Location: Birmingham
Salary: 41,000 (days only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: Permanent

Our client:
Our client operates high volume transportation solutions across the whole of the West Midlands, they pride themselves in offering, safe, reliable and financially viable transport right across the network.
Responsibility for:
* Ensuring inspection and maintenance tasks are being completed in a timely manner
* Ensuring the work tasks follow the correct procedures
* Conducting maintenance and repairs to the signalling and telecommunications equipment
* Switching of electrical substations
* Oversight of contractors carrying out planned works on the signalling and telecommunications equipment
* Assisting in test and commissioning of new systems
* Continuous assessment and improvement of working practices
* Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside of normal working hours
* On Call duties
* Night shift work to perform maintenance and repair work as may reasonably be required
It is essential that you have:
* A good working knowledge and competence in electrical / mechanical systems.
* Recognised Electrical Qualification at Level 3 or above.
* Experience in the use of computer based diagnostic equipment.
* The ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
* A full driving license.
It would be great if you had:
* City and Guilds 18th Edition
* City and Guilds Inspection and Periodic Inspection
* Any experience in fibre and data maintenance, repair and installation.
