Network Security Engineer £46,000 - £50,000 – Birmingham/Remote

VIQU are working with a leading international organisation who are seeking a Network & Security Engineer to ensure security is maintained across the EMEA regions and to help enhance the existing network systems.

The candidate must be a self-starter, be comfortable liaising with individuals across various levels, have worked with various network monitoring tools and previously worked on cybersecurity focused projects.

This position would require the candidate to travel to Birmingham once a month with some irregular travel to international sites. It would involve a 50/50 split of BAU work and project focused work.

Duties and responsibilities of the Network & Security Engineer:

  • Design and deployment of network and security systems such as: Switches, intrusion detection systems, access control systems, firewalls etc..
  • Monitor the network and security systems, troubleshooting related issues and responding promptly to any incidents.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for on-premises and cloud network security.
  • Provide input to and enforcement of network security policies, ensuring that all employees in the EMEA region adhere to them.

Requirements of the Network & Security Engineer:

  • 3+ years of experience in a network / security role.
  • Proven experience of deploying firewalls (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Juniper ect..).
  • Previously implemented security systems like access control and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with BAU security support and monitoring tools like CrowdStrike.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to speak German is desirable but not necessary
