The Energy Asset Modelling Specialist will provide my client with critical insights and strategic recommendations by modelling the performance and profitability of the company's energy assets over time.

This role enhances the quality of investment decisions and the evaluation of strategic options, by assessing the impacts and trade-offs of between options in different market environments, ensuring the company remains competitive and adaptive to market changes.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance optimisation models for energy assets (power stations, heat grids, energy storage, renewables etc.).
  • Run models with multiple technical scenarios and market price sensitivities to describe option space and the different possible outcomes.
  • Maintain and update models to reflect changing market and asset conditions.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses on the company and third-party assets within the core markets.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for investments decisions and strategy projects based on model outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance asset modeling and links to related processes.
     

Your profile

  • Ideally you will have a PhD or Master's degree in Energy Asset Modelling, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in energy asset optimisation and modelling in academia and/or industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency in optimisation and simulation software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex modelling results into actionable strategies.
  • Track record of working collaboratively based on trust and openness.
