Job Title: Environmental Advisor - Water Treatment / Birmingham

Are you passionate about water conservation and sustainability in the construction industry? As an Environmental Advisor specializing in Water Treatment, you will be integral to ensuring that construction projects are not only efficient but also environmentally responsible, particularly when it comes to managing water resources. Your expertise will drive water-saving strategies, ensure compliance with environmental and water treatment regulations, and minimize the environmental impact of construction activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on water treatment, conservation, and management to project teams throughout the construction process.
  • Review and ensure compliance with water-related environmental permits, including water discharge permits and stormwater permits.
  • Develop and implement site-specific Water Management Plans (WMPs) to minimize water waste and optimize water use on construction sites.
  • Oversee the management and treatment of wastewater and stormwater, ensuring proper disposal and treatment to meet regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with water quality standards and environmental guidelines.
  • Liaise with environmental agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with water regulations and address any concerns.
  • Prepare water-related environmental reports, including compliance reports, sustainability performance, and water usage reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in water treatment or water management advisory roles within the construction or environmental sector.
  • Certification in Environmental Management, Water Resources Management, or relevant qualifications in water treatment and sustainability is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly Reporting: Take a leading role in preparing and submitting Quarterly Reports for Consents, ensuring accurate data compilation and timely delivery.
  • Document Management: Work closely with the Environmental and Sustainability team to ensure the effective delivery of key documents, including Quarterly Reports, Groundwater Risk Assessments, Acrylamide Use Reports, and Monitoring Plans.
  • Monitoring Oversight: Review required monitoring activities outlined in consents and permits, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulatory requirements.
  • Groundwater Risk Assessment: Provide expert input into groundwater risk assessments, helping to identify and mitigate potential water-related risks at each site.
