Sustainability Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist engineering consultancy based in Birmingham who provide highly technical multidisciplinary services to the construction and commercial industry. They are on the lookout for an experienced Sustainability Engineer to join their energy team and lead on numerous building physics related projects.

Key responsibilities for a Sustainability Engineer include:

  • Use IES-VE software to carry out thermal comfort, overheating, and operational energy analysis to optimise building performance of construction projects
  • Produce Part O assessments in accordance with CIBSE TM52 and TM59 guidelines
  • Undertake site visits and produce EPCs for commercial projects
  • Produce general energy and sustainability statements and reports.

The ideal Sustainability Engineer will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant role within the built environment industry
  • Experience with IES-VE software to carry out thermal modelling and energy analysis
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building regulations such as Part L and Part O
  • Previous experience delivering commercial EPCs would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail
