Events Coordinator
  • Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract (potential chance of permanent afterwards) 
  • Location: Birmingham City Centre
  • Salary: £28,000 to £32,000
  • Hours - Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm (you will need to work events over standard hours) 

We are seeking a Marketing Events Coordinator to join my clients marketing team. This role is pivotal in the successful planning and execution of firmwide internal events, ensuring they meet learning objectives and adhere to budget and best practice guidelines. The ideal candidate will be a part of a seven-person events team, working within a 58-strong national Marketing team, and will collaborate closely with key stakeholders and the Senior Management team at a leading Law Firm. 

Day to Day of the role:
  • Plan and implement the delivery of successful internal events, both face-to-face and virtual, completing tasks and delegating work as necessary.
  • Provide strategic advice to stakeholders on the feasibility of events and ensure alignment with firm objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts to manage expectations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and venues to secure best value solutions.
  • Keep clients informed about event progression and coordinate their involvement.
  • Produce detailed plans for events, including timelines, venues, rooms, and budgets.
  • Manage bookings for internal and external rooms, catering, and facilities such as AV.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of trusted suppliers and venues.
  • Work with multiple agencies to ensure smooth operations and cost efficiencies.
  • Utilise the firm’s CRM database and email marketing systems for event communications and monitor responses.
  • Engage with social media to enhance the business profile.
  • Manage event feedback, report on ROI, and develop best practice guidelines for future events.
  • Attend events to provide on-site support and ensure smooth execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proficient IT skills, including office software, web systems, app-based software, CRM databases, Zoom, video editing software, and YouTube.
  • Proven advanced negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to delegate and manage details.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in an events/project management role.
  • Flexibility for early starts and late finishes around event schedules.
  • Self-managed with the ability to set and prioritise work agendas independently.
  • Previous exp in a similar role from a Professional Services background
