Due to continued business growth, a family-owned UK manufacturing company are seeking an experienced Extrusion Setter to join their West Midlands based manufacturing and extrusion plant.
The purpose of the role is to set and run extrusion machines for PVC profiles, monitor, and maintain the production process, to ensure finished product meets all relevant specifications and ensure all production activities are monitored to minimise downtime and scrap levels.
As an Extrusion Setter, your duties will include -
- Carrying out tool changes
- Adjusting machine parameters as necessary to maintain production
- Identifying and trouble-shooting extrusion issues
- Ensure efficient running of equipment - production monitoring and fault finding, set changes, tool trials and regulation of cycle times
- Basic general maintenance of machinery, including stripping tools, inspecting parts, verifying, and adjusting
- Monitoring and maintaining process to ensure finished product meets all relevant specifications
- Ensuring all production activities are monitored to minimise downtime and scrap levels
We are keen to speak to anyone who has -
- Practical hands-on experience within a fast-paced extrusions production environment, minimum of 2 years
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Experience in running Inspection and quality checks
- Good knowledge of polymers
- Experience of training new starters on the extrusion machines would be beneficial
- Experience of continuous improvement methodology
- A good level of fitness - this role involves heavy manual handling
On offer -
- A salary of £25,000 - £27,000 (some flexibility for the right person)
- Monday - Thursday, day or night shifts available (6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am)
- 28 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays)
Based in the West Midlands, this role is commutable from Wolverhampton, Coventry, Birmingham and all surrounding areas
