Exciting Opportunity: Extrusion Setter (2 Vacancies)

We are thrilled to announce two openings for experienced Extrusion Setters to join our dynamic extrusion team. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals eager to advance their careers in a positive and fast-paced environment.

Positions Available:

  1. Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM
  2. Night Shift: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 PM to 06:00 AM

Location: BirminghamType: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £14.50 per hour

Role Overview:

As an Extrusion Setter, you will be responsible for setting and running extrusion machines for PVC profiles, monitoring and maintaining the production process to ensure that finished products meet all relevant specifications. You will play a crucial role in minimizing downtime and scrap levels while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate extrusion machines for PVC profiles.
  • Monitor and maintain the production process to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Develop and maintain effective housekeeping practices.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Follow company quality systems and production schedules.
  • Communicate performance inefficiencies, health and safety, or quality issues to the Extrusions Supervisor.
  • Complete all relevant production administration tasks.
  • Maximize production efficiency through monitoring, fault finding, set changes, tool trials, and cycle time regulation.
  • Perform general maintenance of machinery, including stripping tools, inspecting parts, and making necessary adjustments.

Person Specification:

  • Flexible attitude towards working hours.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong fault-finding skills.
  • Good literacy and numerical skills.
  • Motivated, positive attitude, with the ability to work effectively within a small team.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an extrusion production environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to handle heavy manual tasks.
