A leading accountancy practice is recruiting for an Audit Manager - NFP to join the team at the firm’s West Midlands office. This firm has a fantastic reputation generally, and specifically for its not-for-profit services provided to a wide variety of clients including grant makers, schools, academies, charitable organisations, membership organisations and professional bodies.

The practice has a focus upon its people and is a great employer that offers highly competitive salaries and flexible benefits and is keen to actively encourage career progression, and a car allowance for managers upwards.

The firm operates agile working with three days in the office and two days working from home.

Due to the high demand within NFP audit, the firm would also consider recruiting at a lower level, offering a slightly lower salary than that advertised.

You will be working alongside experienced partners with a wealth of not-for-profit knowledge, whilst managing a team of auditors within a supportive and approachable environment.

As Audit Manager - NFP your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of external audit clients and managing audit teams to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  • Be first point of contact for your clients
  • Plan your own work and client appointments
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to senior management
  • Coach and mentor audit teams
  • Business development activities and developing, maintaining and monitoring your own network
  • Involvement in proposals and presentations for new work
  • Potential for involvement in the provision of wider assurance services to clients
  • Participate in team activities and training opportunities

  • Considerable experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Be IT literate with good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Solid technical knowledge of auditing and accounting standards
  • Adept at supporting, coaching and mentoring more junior colleagues
  • Knowledge and experience of charity audits and the not-for-profit sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
