Chief People Officer
Location - B3 2TA
Salary: £100,000 - £110,000 per year
Working hours: 40 hours per week
This role is fully office-based, Monday to Friday, therefore right-to-work in the UK is a requirement.

About the role:
As the Chief People Officer (CPO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with our business goals and further enhances our company culture.
Your role will be to lead all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement and retention.
Your focus will be on fostering a positive work environment aligned with our core values and ensuring that our organisational culture supports innovation, diversity, and inclusion to ensure our organisation attracts, nurtures and retains the best talent.
The role of a Chief People Officer:
- Develop and implement a progressive people strategy that drives sustainable growth, organisational excellence and aligns with the company's values and business objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent across all levels of the organisation.
- Ensure that we attract top tier talent and provide opportunities for growth and career development.
- Implement programmes to identify and develop future leaders.
- Champion a positive, inclusive and high-performance company culture that reflects our core values.
- Lead initiatives to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace.
- Oversee the development and delivery of internal and external e-learning solutions and the adoption of digital tools and technologies to enhance learning experiences
- Provide leadership on Learning and Development initiatives and delivery of training programmes to enhance employee onboarding, skills and career development.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning.
- Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning programmes. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve the impact of learning and development activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in organisational design and workforce planning to support business growth and ensure our structure and processes support our business objectives.
- Implement effective change management strategies.
- Provide leadership on employee relations matters, fostering a supportive work environment
- Address and resolve complex employee issues and conflicts with professionalism and fairness.
- Oversee the design and implementation of competitive compensation, benefits, and reward programs that motivate and reward employees and attract and retain top talent.
- Ensure that all HR policies and practices comply with UK employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices to continually evolve and improve people practices.
- Mentor and coach HR team members, senior leaders and managers across the organisation to enhance leadership capabilities and drive performance.
- Lead the delivery of innovative learning programmes for leadership development ensuring alignment with business needs and measurable outcomes
Role requirements:
- CIPD qualified to level 7 (or equivalent)
- Significant HR experience, with at least 2 years as Chief People Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer (or equivalent) within a similar fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Relevant experience working within the education sector would be a huge advantage.
- Deep expertise in strategic HR management, talent acquisition, L&D and organisational development.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing successful learning and development programmes.
- Proficiency in digital learning tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and e-learning platforms.
- Solid understanding of sales based incentive plans and effective reward structures to motivate and incentivise high performance.
- Proven track record in leading cultural transformation and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience in leading change management and organisational design initiatives.
- A strategic and forward-thinking mindset with a passion for innovation in HR practices.
