An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and commercially astute Finance Manager to join a dynamic and fast-paced organisation. This high-profile role will provide financial and commercial support, ensuring continuous improvement in service levels, cost-effectiveness, and commercial decision-making.
We're looking for bright, outgoing finance professionals who are keen to develop into a commercial role within one of the Midlands' largest organisations. Salary is up to 55,000 with a 10% bonus and hybrid working on offer.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Support:
Act as a trusted business partner to key stakeholders, both financial and non-financial, to facilitate strong commercial and operational decision-making.
Support the application of subsector and sector strategies, aligning with broader organisational objectives.
Deliver insightful financial analysis and summarised findings to support business unit decision-making.
Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities arising from volumetric and contract mechanisms, as well as overall business performance.
Performance Management:
Conduct analysis of key business reports, including month-end reports, business reviews, client reports, budgets, and cash analysis.
Assist operational teams in understanding financial performance through training and business reporting.
Lead monthly balance sheet reviews, escalating risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
Drive working capital improvements through accurate contract billing and active debt ledger management.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes by consolidating data, analysing variances, and preparing presentations for senior stakeholders.
Monitor and challenge operational teams on initiative delivery plans and highlight any risks to achievement.
Prepare and analyse documentation for client tenders, negotiations, and capital expenditure appraisals.
Assist operational teams with mobilisation requirements, ensuring timely execution.
Promote health and safety by ensuring adherence to company procedures and reporting any incidents.
People & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
Work effectively as part of a team while supporting junior team members in their professional development.
Provide mentorship and training to enhance financial understanding within operational teams.
About You:
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience.
Experience within a large & complex organisation.
Strong background in management accounting, including accounting adjustments and producing reports to support commercial decision-making.
High level of analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to partner with non-finance professionals to provide accurate financial information and insights.
Experience using SAP and other reporting tools for analysis and reporting would be highly beneficial.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to evaluate and analyse data concisely.
