Your new companyHays have partnered with this regulator based in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting and Assurance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.Your new roleThey are looking for a technical accountant to monitor and review financial information provided by companies for compliance on relevant reporting requirements.Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Performing technical reviews of companies' annual reports and accounts and making judgements on whether there is possible material non-compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
  • Analysing company responses, undertaking additional research as necessary
  • Recommending regulatory action if necessary
  • Preparing initial correspondence to companies for review.
  • Preparing summaries on cases for publication.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external parties
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in the position, you will:

  • Be a fully qualified member of ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS or CAI (or equivalents) and have:
  • Significant post-qualification experience of applying IFRS and UK GAAP, ideally at a senior manager level or above
  • Have extensive knowledge of corporate reporting requirements and best practice.
  • Have excellent research and analytic skills.
  • Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment and regulatory frameworks
