MERJE is seeking an exceptional Internal Audit Manager (Asset Management) to join the Group Internal Audit team for a leading company in the insurance sector.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop internal audit functions within a dynamic asset management environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing risk management and control processes.

Location: Birmingham but can be based London or Edinburgh (Hybrid with travel to offices)

Salary: Circa £80,000 + extensive bonus and benefits

The Role

As the Internal Audit Manager (Asset Management), you will have the opportunity to make a difference by challenging the effectiveness of Risk, Governance and control environment and provide insight through the work you deliver. Managing your audit portfolio and ad hoc projects and executing each audit end to end you will also be managing relationships with stakeholders

Key Responsibilities of the Internal Audit Manager (Asset Management):

  • Develop and implement internal audit strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Lead and conduct complex audits across asset management functions
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Mentor and develop team members to enhance audit capabilities

Required knowledge and experience for the Internal Audit Manager (Asset Management) role:

  • Proven experience in internal audit, external audit, risk assurance, Sarbanes Oxley within asset management or financial services
  • Experience of using data analytics in audit testing
  • Knowledge of the markets, sustainability trends, competitors, products, services, trends, impacting forces and factors, that make up the Asset Management industry
  • Strong understanding of risk management and control frameworks
  • Professional qualification (Chartered / Certified Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Internal Auditor) is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to build and manage relationships
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements in the insurance sector
