Robertson Bell are supporting a Birmingham-based Public Sector organisation to recruit an interim Planning Manager on an initial six month contract to deliver three primary peices of work; 

- Co-ordinate the budget setting process, engaging with the organisations Finance Business Partners to review, challenge and consolidate a set of robust numbers. 

- Deliver the organisations short-medium term financial plan, working closely with the business planning team to ensure the organisations objectives and finances align. 

- Improve the cross-functional working between the finance business partnering and business planning team for future, in order to better deliver the the budget and financial plan moving forward. 

This is a hybrid role with minimimal office presence required, likely twice per month in easily accessible premises.

The Financial Planning Manager will need the following skills and experience; 

- A background in the Public Sector, delivering budgets or financial plans to a high standard and operating with a high-level autonomy. 

- The ability to engage with multiple stakeholders to co-ordinate and deliver complex processes to a high standard, 

- Current knowledge of Public Sector spend controls/spend reviews. 

- Intermediate to advanced Exel skills.
