Our client, a well established freight forwarder, is now looking for an Ocean Export Operator to become part of their dedicated Ocean Freight team.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that clients receive outstanding support, playing a key role in managing the movement of goods internationally, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient delivery. Your ability to pay attention to detail, communicate effectively, and adapt to constantly changing situations will make you a vital member of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and nurture relationships to ensure a high standard of customer service is consistently delivered.
  • Ensure the timely movement of freight, accompanied by all necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate haulage with shipping lines.
  • Ensure all required documentation is readily available.
  • Handle requests and queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly and precisely with overseas agents, customers, and suppliers.
  • Utilise customer SAP systems as required.
  • Take ownership of your own training and development to continuously improve.

General Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in the Ocean Freight industry and operations.
  • Understanding the importance of attention to detail and its commercial impact.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong numerical and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and other office applications (Microsoft Office), with Cargowise experience preferred.
  • Proactive team player with strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Experience handling hazardous goods.
