We are seeking an experienced candidate to register and manage three Homes, registered with Ofsted.
Location: Birmingham
Working Pattern: Usual in-house working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, in addition to out of hours on-call availability, in accordance with an on-call rota.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage Children's Residential Homes for Young People aged 14-18, with Learning Disabilities.
This role will suit candidates who have previously managed a Children's Ofsted registered provision either as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager. Other candidates are also welcome to apply if you feel you meet the criteria below.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of two years' experience, within the last five years, of managing a Children's Home or similar setting.
- Must have worked in a management/supervisory capacity for a minimum of one year.
- Educated to a minimum of QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent. [Or working towards Level 5]
- Have knowledge and understanding of Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Experienced in managinga Home which is compliant in regards to staffing, health and safety and care plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be responsible for the management of each Home in accordance with the Statement of Purpose.
- Ensure each Home runs in accordance with the relevant legislation, including the nine quality standards, with a primary focus on achieving positive outcomes for all Young People.
- Ensure the Home is Health & Safety compliant.
- Ensure all documentation is in place for all Young People.
- Work effectively with Professionals who form the team around the child, including, but not limited to, Social Workers, Commissioners, Medical Professionals, LADO and the Police.
- To assist in providing effective line management to Deputy Managers and a staff team.
- To maximise the effectiveness of staff through continuous professional development, through the application of Company HR policies and procedures.
- To ensure there is a rota in place for each Home, providing sufficient staffing levels to meet the needs of Young People.
- Have line management responsibilities for a staff team, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate and thorough induction, monthly supervision, probation reviews and annual appraisal.
- To work in line with a financial budget, with support from the Finance department.
- To actively participate in HR processes, with support form HR, for recruitment, grievances, disciplinary, health and safety and other staffing matters.
