Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Pharmacist to join a well-established NHS Hospital pharmacy team in Birmingham, working specifically within the Cardiology team. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team and will play a crucial role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical services to patients under cardiology care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing clinical pharmacy support to the cardiology wards.
  • Reviewing medication prescriptions and offering clinical advice to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conducting medication reviews and liaising with medical staff regarding treatment plans.
  • Ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines within the cardiology department.
  • Supporting in the development and implementation of medication-related protocols and guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centred care.


Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Pharmacist, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Previous wards experience within a hospital setting, preferably in Cardiology.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of cardiology medications and patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Availability to start in January.


Additional Information:

  • This is a 5-day per week position, Monday to Friday, with standard working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a 30-minute break.
