This position requires an individual to manage two critical roles on the project:

Fire Coordinator
The Fire Coordinator is responsible for ensuring fire safety measures are implemented and adhered to on the construction site. This role is crucial for preventing and managing fire incidents, safeguarding personnel, equipment, and property.Key Duties:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans in coordination with relevant authorities.
- Conduct fire drills and training sessions to prepare personnel for emergencies.
- Maintain firefighting equipment and ensure its readiness for use.

Working at Height Coordinator
The Working at Height Coordinator ensures that all project-related activities involving heights comply with the Working at Height Standard. This role is essential for preventing and managing height-related incidents through close coordination with subcontractors and key MDjv team members (e.g., Fire Coordinator, Security Coordinator, Construction Lead, and Logistics Lead).Key Duties:
- Coordinate the development of the project’s Working at Height Plan in accordance with standards.
- Ensure the Working at Height Plan is reviewed monthly or when changes occur.
- Communicate the requirements of the Working at Height Plan to relevant employees and contractors.
- Verify that contractors, supervisors, and employees have the necessary competency levels for working at height.
- Set up site fire safety systems, including main and satellite accommodation.
- Ensure compliance with the Mace Fire Standard, HSG168, and the JCoP 10th edition.
- Coordinate liaison and visits with local WMFS stations.
- Manage MDJV fire marshals and the HWP process on site.
- Liaise with the Vehicle Holding Area (VHA off-site) regarding fire safety measures.
- Manage waste to prevent the buildup of combustible materials.
- Maintain a database of fire-trained, competent operatives and managers on site.
- Serve as custodian of the Fire Safety Plan and Fire Risk Assessment, ensuring updates as required.
- Review and approve subcontractors' Fire Risk Assessments and conduct periodic reviews.
- Develop the project’s Working at Height Plan in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Ensure the Working at Height Plan is reviewed monthly or when any change is required.
- Communicate requirements of the Working at Height Plan to MDjv employees and contractors.
- Confirm contractors and MDjv personnel have the correct competencies for working at height.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and resources are available to meet height safety requirements.
- Take appropriate action with any contractor failing to comply with MDjv standards or local regulations.
- Ensure formal handover arrangements are established between contractors and MDjv.
- Monitor compliance through inspections and audits on YellowJacket, documenting findings and ensuring timely close-out.

- Completion of the construction fire safety awareness e-learning.
- Completion of the Fire Coordinator’s course.
- Completion of a 5-day Fire Risk Assessor’s Course based on project-specific risks as identified.

- CSCS Manager's Card holder.
- SMSTS certification.
- Management/Supervisory experience.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor.
