Housing Options Officer - Refugee & Asylum Seeker Specialist - Hybrid - Midlands - Rate DOE

A client of mine is looking to bring in a Refugee & Asylum Seeker specialist to join their team in an interim contract on a hybrid basis.

You must have experience in:

  • Dealing with Asylum Seekers & Refugees in a previous placement.
  • Previously worked with the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
  • Demonstrate a confident working knowledge of Part 7 and Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Assess and case work homeless applications made to the council, ensuring compliance with homelessness legislation, specifically the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 (HRA).
  • Attend meetings as requested, contributing to discussions and providing updates on cases and developments.

You will be working on:

  • Demonstrated understanding of homelessness legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and relevant sections of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Confident working knowledge of Part 7 and Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996.
  • Conducting section 184 decisions and writing letters on Refugee & Asylum Seeker cases.

Interviews will be conducted over TEAMs and due to this being an urgent requirement they will be looking to interview and appoint as early as next week.
