Our client are a well respected builders merchant providing a mixture of building supplies to a range of house builders, housing associations, contractors and end users.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced builders merchant professional to join their busy branch in West Midlands.
The role will involve providing quotations via phone and email to customers and ensuring a smooth sales process throughout. You will liaise with the transport team and keep the customers updated with any delays that might arise in the sales process. Additioanlly you will need to build relationships with the customer base to ensure repeat business. Further duties will include a proactive approach to sales, finding and bringing on board new customers, calling low spend and lapsed accounts. You will need to cross basket sell and upsell where possible to ensure the best possible sale is made, whilst maintaining margin.
Due to the nature of the role, experience within the builders merchant sector is essential along with a strong awareness of the local marketplace.
