Joinery and Metalwork Buyer Salary: Up to £35,000  Location: BirminghamHours: Monday to Friday (normal dayshift hours) Start Date: ASAPType: Permanent, Full-TimeSyntech Recruitment are currently working representing a high end bespoke joinery and refurbishment business and we are looking for an experienced Buyer with a similar background to join the team.  Please only apply if you have proven working experience in purchasing / buying within a high end joinery / refirbishment business or similar as we can only consider candidates with direct relevant experienceBuyer’s Duties:
  • Tender & Estimator Collaboration: Partner with estimators during the tender stage to secure competitive pricing and identify long lead items.
  • Supplier Engagement: Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical queries and address issues before drawing approvals.
  • Order Management: Place orders for requisitioned items at the best price and ensure suitable delivery schedules.
  • Delivery Oversight: Monitor order progress and manage subcontract works to meet project timelines. Escalate any delivery or supply issues to the relevant contract or setting out manager.
  • Invoice & Dispute Resolution: Sign off on monthly invoices against delivery notes to maximize discounts.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent 
  • Familiarity with joinery and metalwork is advantageous.
  • Proven strong negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A flexible and committed approach with a drive to meet company objectives.
  • NVQ in Business is a plus.
