Working fully remote (UK Based) a skilled Lead Azure DevOps Engineer is required to guide DevOps practices, working across multiple engineering teams to design, implement, and optimise the cloud architecture and CI/CD pipelines. In this leadership role, you'll provide strategic direction, serve as a technical mentor, and act as the design authority on key initiatives, ensuring the infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

You will be expected to

  • Set the strategic vision for Azure DevOps practices across engineering squads.
  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud architectures in Microsoft Azure.
  • Guide and mentor engineering teams, promoting collaboration and innovation.
  • Align all DevOps projects with company goals and industry best practices.
  • Standardise and share DevOps knowledge across teams, fostering continuous improvement and automation.

The Lead Azure DevOps Engineer must boast

  • 8+ years in DevOps, with 5+ years focused on Azure.
  • Expertise with Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure DNS, App Services, Blob Storage).
  • Proficiency with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform), CI/CD, and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) and excellent networking knowledge.
  • Experience in monitoring, logging, and application performance tools.
  • Familiarity with common programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Go).
  • Experience in vulnerability management and cyber security.
  • Knowledge of data engineering and single sign-on tools.
