Principal Designer & CDM Advisor
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to 60,000 P/A


In this dynamic position, the successful candidate will offer expert construction health and safety & CDM advice and fulfil the responsibilities of a Principal Designer. Working on a range of exciting projects, you'll ensure compliance with CDM2015 regulations and support the delivery of safe, effective design and construction processes.   • 36.5-hour week - Daily hours of 7.5 Monday to Thursday and 6.5 Friday.

Person Spec:
  • Has a thorough understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Possesses strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.
  • Is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing their own workload effectively.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Principal Designer / CDM Advisor.
  • Extensive experience managing CDM projects to successful completion.
  • Construction site health and safety experience.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as a NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or Diploma.
  • Membership in professional health and safety bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with contractors, designers, and clients with daily meetings
  • Monitor compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and support designers in meeting these standards.
  • Coordinate and manage the Health & Safety during the pre-construction phase
  • Provide contractors with the necessary information achieve Health & Safety goals
  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Assess Health & Safety Plans and provide feedback.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive Health & Safety Files at project completion.
