Principal Designer and CDM Advisor required by an architectural practice to plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate Health and Safety in projects. This includes identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks and ensuring designers carry out their duties.
Role includes:
Providing CDM advice and support to Client Teams, advising clearly of their Duties, developing bespoke policies, procedures and documentation.
Carrying out thorough reviews of site project information and construction drawings, identifying design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews.
Attending and co-ordinating Design and Project Meetings as required.
Visiting project sites and completing inspections.
Preparing, co-ordinating and distributing relevant Health and Safety Information to other design and project team members.
Reviewing RAMS.
Reviewing Construction Phase Plans.
Preparing and issuing Fee Proposals.Experience
Several years’ experience acting as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, preferably in the construction sector.
A demonstrable understanding of design and construction drawings, with experience of undertaking Design Risk Reviews.
Experience of working on retail fit outs and new builds is preferred but not essential.
Qualifications
You will ideally hold or be working towards CMaPS and possibly CMIOSH Accreditation.
A degree or equivalent in a Built Environment subject and/or membership of other relevant professional bodies would be beneficial but not essential.
The company are paying £45k-£50k plus car allowance. As projects are Nationwide, being based in the Midlands is ideal.
