Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a dynamic and fast-growing organisation leading the rollout of Electric Vehicle infrastructure and low-carbon energy projects across the UK to recruit a Senior Authorised Person. The client has headquarters in Swindon but will be field-based.

The strategically important Senior Authorised Person comes with a salary of up to 55,000 (OT 75,000), enhanced pension contributions, and private medical benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will:

  • Serve as the Standby Engineer for a nationwide Operations & Maintenance portfolio encompassing over 2,000 sites, ensuring prompt fault resolution and effective maintenance operations.
  • Support the training and development of colleagues pursuing Low Voltage or High Voltage Authorised Person status, focusing on enhancing maintenance skills and safety standards.
  • Conduct maintenance activity audits, prepare detailed reports, and manage project budgets to drive efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of fault response callouts, ensuring efficient maintenance practices and smooth project delivery.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Authorisation to work on networks up to 33kV (extensive 11kV experience will also be considered), including permit-to-work certifications.
  • Proven track record of undertaking site-specific risk assessments, creating RAMS, and issuing/cancelling safety documents.
  • Competence in network operations under instruction from Network Control Engineers.
  • Familiarity with local network anomalies and ensuring correct phase rotation.
  • Experience using productivity and collaboration software such as Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 3 points).
  • CSCS card (or affiliated scheme).
