School Attendance officer required to work at a school in Birmingham.As an Attendance officer you will be:

  • Taking calls from student and parents reporting absences
  • Collating data and recording in excel format
  • Contacting parents to report student absences and attendance issues
  • Monitoring absences and raising issues with relevant departments
  • Input attendance data and investigating any missing data, and maintaining accurate attendance records, including unexplained lesson absences.

Requirements:

  • Ideally have experience using G4Schools or sims (not essential)
  • Previous experience as an attendance officer in a school
  • ENHANCED DBS DISCLOSURE dated within the last year of issue or on the update service

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritise tasks and workload to meet deadlines
  • A confident, professional phone manner and ability to answer calls with ease
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • A high level of accuracy
  • The ability to be both proactive and reactive in a timely and professional manner
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • Good data entry and computer-based record-keeping skills
  • The ability to quickly learn new computer programmes and systems
