The Role: SHEQ Manager

As the SHEQ Manager at DGP PLC, you will be at the forefront of our commitment to maintaining exceptional safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. Youll play a critical role in shaping and enhancing our approach to SHEQ, fostering a proactive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across the company. This is a key leadership role where your expertise will influence not only the safety and wellbeing of our teams but also the quality and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

As our SHEQ Manager, you will:

  • Act as the companys go-to expert on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality matters, offering guidance on legal and technical issues.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Implement and oversee strategic health and safety management systems across the business.
  • Support site managers in developing safe systems of work, risk assessments, and ensuring their consistent implementation.
  • Drive a positive health and safety culture by engaging teams and promoting proactive safety practices.
  • Collaborate with managers and site teams to implement continuous improvement programs in SHEQ.
  • Identify and ensure the delivery of necessary training in accordance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of internal SHEQ training sessions.
  • Analyse SHEQ performance data to identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Conduct accident investigations, producing detailed reports to improve future practices.
  • Carry out site inspections, reporting findings to management with actionable insights.
  • Oversee plant and equipment needs, ensuring compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Recommend appropriate PPE and ensure proper corrective actions are taken after workplace inspections.

Skills and Qualifications

Were looking for a dynamic and experienced individual with the following qualifications:

Essential:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Train the Trainer Qualification
  • At least 3 years of experience in a SHEQ Management role

Desirable:

  • SHEQ-related Diploma
  • NEBOSH Fire Prevention and Risk Management Certificate
  • Environmental Management Systems Qualification
  • General Management Qualification
  • Graduate IOSH or CMIOSH Status
  • 5 years of SHEQ management experience in a similar construction contractor environment, with line management experience
