Steel Sales Representative, Birmingham, £30-40k + Performance Related Bonuses


My client is an independent steel stockholder and processor, supplying customers across the UK and Ireland. They are actively seeking to recruit an experienced and proven Sales Representative from within the Steel Stockholding industry.


The overall purpose of the role is to meet or exceed sales objectives of assigned territory by promoting the companys products through professional sales techniques, product service, and long-term customer relationships.


As a proactive Sales Representative reporting to the Managing Director, you will generate new business, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain a strong order book and sales pipeline. You will seek sales opportunities and business growth in your region and manage customer accounts.


Role Responsibilities: -

Plan and achieve regional sales goals in line with business objectives.

Grow sales/revenue in your region through effective networking and social media presence.

Optimise pricing strategies to increase customer value.

Collaborate with Marketing to implement our marketing strategy.

Monitor and report on regional sales performance.

Evaluate regional market trends and identify new growth opportunities.

Handle and resolve problems and complaints including credit issues.

Recommend new services/products and sales techniques to enhance customer satisfaction.

Maximise percent of time in front of customers.

Call on accounts in clusters.


Person Specification: -

Knowledgeable about steel products and relevant markets.

Familiar with marketing concepts and practices.

Skilled in measuring and analysing key performance indicators.

Proficient in IT and experience using CRM systems.

Aware of our production processes.

Able to read and produce reports and market analysis.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Team player with a positive attitude.

Self-organisation.

Willing to travel.

Versed in business social media channels.

A-Level education or equivalent.

Self-starter.

Sense of urgency.
