Job Title: Train Cleaner Team Leader

Location: Birmingham, New Street

Pay Rate: £13.28

Hours per week: Variable Shift Rota - 37.5 hours per week (5 over 7)

Job Overview

As a Train Cleaner Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of cleaners and ensuring the efficient and thorough cleaning of our trains.

You will play a key role in maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of our trains to the highest standards while adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of train cleaners, including scheduling, task assignment, and providing guidance and support to ensure a high standard of work.
  • Cleaning Supervision: Oversee the cleaning of train interiors and exteriors, including seats, floors, windows, restrooms, and common areas, to ensure they meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, and report any shortages or equipment issues to the Facilities Manager for timely resolution.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are met, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Training and Development: Train new team members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation, and provide ongoing coaching to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that the team follows all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supplies usage, and any incidents or issues. Prepare and submit reports to the Facilities Manager as required.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate with other departments to address customer complaints related to cleanliness and ensure a positive passenger experience.

About You:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to enforce them.
