U&A Surveys Lead

Our Client has a requirement for a U&A Team Survey Lead, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Birmingham.

Job Specification: U&A Team Survey Lead

ROLE TITLE: U&A Team Survey Lead
FUNCTION: Pre & Post Construction Condition Surveys (Defect, Drainage, Land Condition Surveys)
REPORTS TO: Senior Project Manager - Surveys
LOCATION: Birmingham

ROLE PURPOSE:
Lead and manage pre & post-construction condition surveys for large-scale infrastructure projects. Oversee risk mitigation, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and coordinate across sub-lots and project stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage all pre & post-construction related surveys (Defect, Drainage, Land Condition).
• Ensure compliance with project-specific agreements and maintain a register of obligations.
• Oversee data management, including survey results and construction progress, ensuring accurate uploads to internal systems.
• Coordinate drainage and land surveys, ensuring contractor obligations and survey progress are tracked and reported.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and community engagement teams.
• Ensure all survey-related communications comply with GDPR standards.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA:

The following qualities/experience are essential:

• An enthusiastic approach
• Previous experience in the surveys, ground works, structures, and heavy civil works.
• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately.
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
• Ability to visit survey location to conduct, monitor and verify surveys, produce survey reports where required.
• Ability to deliver to deadlines.
• Organisational and Analytical Skills.
• Ability to follow procedures.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

• Proactive, positive approach
• Data analysis
• Experience of major construction schemes and / or major infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of GIS systems
• Communication, team working skills
• Degree qualified with extensive groundworks or survey experience.
