The Client

Our client is a leading engineering and environmental consultancy that provides high-quality consulting, engineering, and project management services, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Utility Surveyor to join their team.

Job Specification

As a Utility Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys to identify and locate underground utilities, including gas, water, electricity, and telecommunications. You will use a range of survey equipment and software to produce high-quality reports and drawings, and you will work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct utility surveys using a range of survey equipment, including GPR, EML, and GPS.
  • Interpret survey data to identify and locate underground utilities and other services.
  • Produce high-quality reports and drawings using survey software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with utility providers to obtain information and utility plans.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained on-site.
  • Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey data, including field notes and digital data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or time served in a related field.
  • Competent in using utility surveying techniques, equipment and PAS 128 standards
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility in your approach to working hours.
  • Willing and able to travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Full UK driving licence.
