Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Lozells, Birmingham, for a temporary role starting January 2025, until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across the Year 5 curriculum, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
Assessment and Tracking: Regularly assess student progress and implement effective strategies to support both high-achieving students and those requiring additional support.
Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
Collaboration: Work alongside the Year 5 team and other staff members to ensure consistency and high standards in teaching and learning.
Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers to ensure open communication and support for the children's academic progress.


Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience teaching Year 5 or within Key Stage 2, with a sound understanding of the curriculum and assessment methods.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
Excellent communication skills and a team player mindset.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.


Experience, Training and Qualifications:
QTS and Experience: It is essential that you have QTS and experience teaching in a school setting in either a permanent or supply cover role.
Safeguarding: Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative. If you haven't completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months, Prospero Teaching can provide you with a free course.


To be eligible for any job with Prospero Teaching, you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years.
