Commercial Gas Supervisor

Red Rock Consultants have partnered with a leading provider of gas services to recruit a Commercial Gas Supervisor.

The supervisor is responsible for servicing and maintaining gas appliances and carrying out boiler fault-finding within both commercial and domestic properties.

You will also supervise staff, troubleshoot issues, provide technical support, and communicate solutions to engineers, office staff, and customers.

Main Duties:

• Resolve issues raised by on-call engineers.
• Lead projects and provide technical support to engineers and office staff.
• Conduct site inspections, post-work checks, toolbox talks, and staff inductions.
• Attend breakdowns, fault-find, diagnose, and repair promptly.
• Deliver first-time fixes and high levels of customer care.
• Perform maintenance, service, and repairs as needed.
• Conduct servicing and safety checks on heating systems for compliance.
• Diagnose and repair boiler/system breakdowns.
• Inform the relevant director if repairs deviate from job orders.
• Communicate with tenants about repair schedules and necessary follow-ups.
• Protect tenant furnishings during work.
• Oversee the assembly/installation of heating systems or components.
• Liaise with management/clients to ensure work completion.
• Adhere to client regulations and ensure safety in all tasks.
• Purchase materials cost-effectively.
• Maintain required training and certifications.
• Complete and return necessary documentation.
• Ensure safe and proper use of company vehicles and property.
• Quote additional work as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and health & safety guidelines.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential:

• Extensive experience as a lead engineer.
• A recognised gas apprenticeship and relevant commercial gas certificates (ACS – CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A).
• Gas experience within the commercial sector, including fault-finding, service, repair, and maintenance of gas/heating installations and appliances.
• Working knowledge of test equipment, including an electrical multi-meter.
• Flexible approach to work, as the role requires travel to multiple sites across the West & East Midlands and may involve occasional wider travel.
• Ability to work additional hours as required, with overtime paid.
• Effective communication skills with tenants and the public.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
