Metal pressings and tooling manufacturer supplying a wide variety of industries.
To set Press Tools in a safe and efficient manner within estimated tool change-over times in order to produce components within designed specification. To be actively involved in the improvement of the setting process, reducing set up times (SMED) problem solving, the correct recording and feedback of tooling issues to the technical team.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Setting and change-over of a variety of press tools on a number of differing presses.
- Working to company recognised standards of performance (SOPs).
- Responsible for Health and Safety procedures whilst setting and machine in operation.
- Booking accurate production data through the computer system.
- Machine minding when an operator is not available.
- Material handling loading and unloading of metal coils.
- Manual Handling of heavy and expensive tooling utilising hydraulic equipment.
- Updating of development files.
- Ensuring relevant technical documentation is up to date.
- Working to champion 5s principles maintenance of good housekeeping.
- Seeking to continually improve setting processes.
- Actively involved in the problem-solving process.
Candidate requirements: -
Essential: -
- Experience of Bruderer presses 25, 30-to-60-ton machines.
- Inspection testing skills.
- Proven setting experience.
- Commitment to shift working flexibility when required.
- Commitment toward Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Computer literate
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Continuous Improvement focus
Preferred: -
- ROSPA Press setting safety course completed.
- Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Manual handling training completed.
Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am 4.15pm, Friday 7.30am 12.30pm (38 hours)
