We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicatedPress Setter Operatorto join our dynamic Production Team. As a Press Setter Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient production operations, with responsibilities including tool changes on mechanical presses and ensuring the availability of materials for press operators in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Setup & Maintenance: Mount, align, and secure tools in the production press, making technical and mechanical adjustments as necessary.
  • Quality Control: Regularly measure workpieces in collaboration with the Quality Control team to ensure machine accuracy using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, templates, or other relevant instruments.
  • Machine Monitoring: Observe machine operations for any defects or malfunctions and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift to move materials (Training provided if required).
  • Post-Production Tasks: Remove tools from machines once the production run is completed and inspect the first and last pieces from the run in collaboration with Quality Control.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist other departments as needed, particularly in periods of high demand or workload.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in tool setting is highly desirable. Applicants should be mechanically inclined, with a strong interest in engineering.
  • Quality Focus: Ability to work to the highest standards of quality and efficiency, ensuring precision in all tasks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in resolving problems and approaching tasks with a calm and focused mindset.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities to work collaboratively with the Production Team, Quality Control, and Tool-Room.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be capable of recording and managing detailed quality control records, which will be regularly reviewed by management, customers, and auditors.
  • Forklift License: A forklift license is preferred but not essential.

Additional Information:

As a small business, you may be asked to support other departments depending on workload demands.

Monday to Thursday 7am till 16.30pm

early finish on Friday
