The Role:
University College Birmingham are seeking to appoint a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) for a fixed term periodfor our busy and friendly safeguarding team, part of the Student Services and Wellbeing directorate.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all UCB students, aged 16+, whether studying on one of our college or university courses. The DDSL will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of FE Pastoral Support in all matters relating to safeguarding by addressing concerns effectively and proactively.
You will work 1-1 with students, liaising with their families or guardians, as well as advising and supporting teaching and professional services staff who raise concerns. You will understand child and adult safeguarding processes and organisations locally as well as nationally. You will have excellent time management and communication skills and be able to deal with a crisis in a calm and effective manner.
